Breakfast at The Table Top

Breakfast at The Table Top is a Burlington staple, especially if you are an Eggy’s Benny fan like me!

I was lucky enough to get Savannah, who I found out is a connoisseur of “the perfect bite!” When my breakfast came; of poached eggs on potato latkes topped with smoked salmon and accompanied with homemade spiced apples and sour cream; she explained you have to first pour the apple juices from the spice apples everywhere so the potato pancakes will soak up the juices. And then you have to try to have the perfect bite each time. A challenge I’m always up for!

With every bite, I realized what heaven probably feels like because I was being filled up with a warm, cosy and loving feeling.

Kerri was kind enough to assure me this special will stay on the weekend breakfast menu. She also let me know it’s Gluten free as they use rice flour! Unfortunately, since this visit the dish has changed as the apples are whole slices and the one big beautiful pancake is now 4 smaller ones.

On another visit, I enjoyed the smoked salmon eggs benny on a croissant.

Have you been to The Table Top? I’ve only had their Eggs Benny; are there other menu items you would recommend?

About Marsha Idella

It's my Edible Journey! I love food. I love love love chef tastings. Eating out inspires my home cooking. I’m passionate about sharing the foods I’ve tasted – made by someone else or me. I love sharing my journey through food, advising where to eat and what to eat. Sometimes it’s a homemade meal, a nearby restaurant, a culinary vacation or a food themed event. I love sharing food photos and their descriptions just as much as eating, but I also need to archive my foodie photos and recommendations thus far so that I don’t forget where I’ve been. Sometimes it is about eating the same thing twice – especially when you want to share that experience with someone or just relive it. “This is amazing, you gotta eat this”
