Matteo’s in downtown Welland is a fabulous escape to Italy for your tastebuds.

The Farnese, he recommended, was an excellent full bodied red wine to have with this meal.
Every dish came out presented so pretty and pleasing to the eye. The caprese salad was lovely and I loved the good sized tasty mozzarella. The fresh linguini pasta with homemade meatballs was warming and comforting. The prosciutto Bianca thin crust pizza (made in the pizza wood oven) was so good and I loved the arugula paired with the fresh flavours of prosciutto, garlic and tomato. I was also pleased with the perfect distribution of all the ingredients making ever bite the perfect bite.
The perfect ending for an exceptional meal came from Crystal beach’s Meister’s Sweets. The Mocha mouse cake and Lemon yogurt cheesecake were both light yet packed with flavour.
