The Combine is… an amazing fairy tale like culinary experience!

Everything I dream about in a perfect meal, The Combine delivers and more:

• Fresh, local, fun food, presented with a mouth-watering reaction.
• Personable staff with exceptional food knowledge and recommendations.
• Cozy, homey environment where I really feel taken care of & pampered.
• Leaving the restaurant wanting to talk about the meal yet dream about my next meal.

My sister and I made the 1.5 hour trek to Simcoe, Norfolk after watching the amazing OntarioSouthwest’s Norfolk video where The Combine was featured.

The anticipation was building and our expectations were high.

Just seeing the drink menu got us excited and we loved our choices: wonderfully minty mojito and perfectly spiced Caesar.

But we had more decisions to make.

It took us awhile to craft our perfect order. Because it was pizza night we choose their featured pizza, then worked backwards to pick apps to compliment this.

I’m so glad with our app choices and I loved their presentation on the wood board. Hands down the best vegetable fritters I’ve ever had… also I don’t know where else you could get this perfection. Not to say the corn dogs and perch tacos are any less, they are also stupid amazing!

Their Steak and ratatouille pizza special showed us the great wood fired crust and we also loved the ranch dipping sauce.

The churros were fantastic and I would get them again everytime…but maybe with a side of ice cream! Also note: their pies are wood fired too.

This is a ‘stop what you are doing’ and eat here restaurant! It’s got a small town, down home feeling because you are in someone’s home in a small town. The food is outstanding, but it’s more then that. I love their attention to all the details; like the quaint setting of the inviting front porch swing.

I’m already dreaming about my next meal at The Combine.
