Indian Village in Ancaster puts a lot of love in their cuisine.

I love good Indian food made with an array of fresh ingredients and a lot of love and that is exactly what I found at the Indian Village in Ancaster.

I started with their sweet and smooth Mango Lassis yogurt drink which cools the palate in between bites. I really enjoyed the little starter of crunchy Pappadum and sweet mango sauce.

For the main course I was in my glory surrounded by a beautifully presented meal, a culinary rainbow. The Bhindi lazeez was full of flavour with okra, peas, paneer (in house made cheese) & capsicum. It paired lovely with Kashmiri palao basmati saffron rice with fruit and nuts as well as the Cucumber raita sauce.

The garlic naan though is just so good, amazingly soft with the perfect crunch.

Not only is the cooking soulful but the staff is equally attentive and friendly especially when it came to pairing the right rice and the right sauce.

About Marsha Idella

It's my Edible Journey! I love food. I love love love chef tastings. Eating out inspires my home cooking. I’m passionate about sharing the foods I’ve tasted – made by someone else or me. I love sharing my journey through food, advising where to eat and what to eat. Sometimes it’s a homemade meal, a nearby restaurant, a culinary vacation or a food themed event. I love sharing food photos and their descriptions just as much as eating, but I also need to archive my foodie photos and recommendations thus far so that I don’t forget where I’ve been. Sometimes it is about eating the same thing twice – especially when you want to share that experience with someone or just relive it. “This is amazing, you gotta eat this”
